Taylor Swift ‘Absolutely Traumatized’ By Justin Bieber’s ‘Punk’d’
0On the season premiere of “Punk’d” on March 29, Justin Bieber had some fun pulling pranks on his pals Sean Kingston, Rob Dyrdek, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
Swift’s punk was particularly memorable, as the singer was left in tears after Bieber made her believe she ruined a wedding. The premise: Bieber and his pal, Ryan Good, talked her into launching off a special firecracker that was sent to them. That firecracker launched off farther than they could have expected and set a boat on fire. That boat had a wedding party on it. And, Swift believed she ruined a couple’s big day. Of course, she hadn’t.
When CMT Insider asked if she would ever get back at him by, say, flour-bombing, she replied, “No, I’m not gonna do that to somebody! I love Justin. I would never do that to him and I’m not really that girl that’s like, ‘I’m gonna get him! I’m gonna get him back!’ … cause he’s too smart. I’d never be able to punk him. Like, he’d figure it out, then turn the tables on me and then it would be Justin: two, Taylor: zero.”
All eyes were on Swift throughout the specially designed prank, eyes that she later learned included the youngest members of the First Family when she caught up with Sasha and Malia at the Kids’ Choice Awards. “They told me they saw the ‘Punk’d’ episode, so now I know they’ve seen me absolutely traumatized and terrified, so that was good.”

Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez ‘Not Engaged,’ Rep Says
0The celebrity relationship rumor mill has churned out another juicy one today (April 20) with reports that teen sweethearts Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are taking their romance to the next level and shopping for engagement rings.
As expected, the rumor is just that. Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun told Us Weekly that the reports are “complete bulls—” and that the Biebs’ entire management team was very entertained by the fictional report. He said they were all “laughing” at the speculation.

So where did the rumor get started? Via a gossip item in the Chicago Sun-Times, which claimed that “several people close to the superstar couple” told the newspaper that they’re convinced an engagement announcement is in the very near future.
The story went on to say that Bieber, 18, and Gomez, 19, were spotted at a couple major jewelry stores eyeing pricey diamond rings.
The lovebirds have been dating for nearly a year and, despite the public scrutiny of their relationship, are a normal teenage couple who share a similar “dating philosophy,” according to Gomez. For Bieber, that philosophy includes honesty and patience.
“I don’t know if I’m even the best boyfriend,” Bieber recently admitted to MTV News during an interview on the set of the music video shoot for his latest single, “Boyfriend.” “But I can give a few suggestions. I think being honest and patient, because girls can be tough sometimes, so you just got to be patient. That’s two. Forgive, and have fun, because it’s about having fun. Last one? Be faithful.”

Justin Bieber Says Believe ‘Definitely’ Has More Rapping
0When Justin Bieber dropped “Boyfriend,” he definitely channeled his rapper alter ego Shawty Mane on the verses, spewing lyrics like, “If I was your boyfriend, I’d never let you go/ I can take you places you ain’t never been before/ Baby take a chance or you’ll never ever know/ I got money in my hands that I’d really like to blow/ Swag swag swag, on you.”
The song now has many fans wondering whether more rapping will appear on his upcoming album, Believe. When MTV News caught up with the teen star on the set of his “Boyfriend” video, he shared just how much rapping will make the final cut.
“There’s not a lot of rapping on the album,” he said. “As people know, I’m a singer, and I don’t want to get people confused with that, but it’s something that I love to do, so you guys will definitely hear more of it.”
Fans will also hear more rapping from Bieber’s pal Drake, who recently opened up about working with his friend on the release.
“It sounds like everything you’d imagine a great Justin Bieber and Drake song would sound like,” the Take Care MC teased in an interview with Capital FM. Describing the process of making the track, he said he went about creating the song in a way he hadn’t done in the past.
“We meet on the ground of melody. He’s always like, ‘Yo, your melodies are so crazy,’ and ‘Give me the craziest melody.’ So, we sat there for a night, and it was actually a great studio process,” Drake explained. “What we would do is he would go in the booth for 10 minutes, and he would hum melodies, and then he would walk out, and then I’d be like, ‘I like this one,’ and then I’d go in, and we started coaching each other and amping each other up.”
Bieber also got a studio visit from Lil Wayne, but there’s been no word on whether the pair worked on any tracks for the album, dropping later this year.
For anyone wondering if Bieber truly does have the swag to pull of those kinds of collaborations, “Boyfriend” writer/producer Mike Posner, who describes the song as “super hip-hop,” assures critics that Bieber has what it takes.
“I think we’ve all known Justin since he was 13, and that’s not the kid I was in the studio with anymore,” Posner said. “He’s an 18-year-old. He skateboards with Lil Wayne and hangs out with Lil Twist. Those are his homeys. And he listens to hip-hop, and he’s a really cool kid. He’s not a corny guy.”

Justin Bieber Reveals Believe Release Date On ‘The Voice’
0If you tuned into Tuesday night’s (April 17) episode of “The Voice,” then you caught a roller-coaster episode, with Justin Bieber teasing his “Boyfriend” video and announcing that his new album, Believe, will hit stores June 19 and two more competitors biting the dust.
Rocking a simple jacket, jeans and gold pendent, a charismatic Bieber was welcomed to the “Voice” stage with overwhelming applause. “I’m really happy to be here, and I think you guys are going to really love the video,” he told host Carson Daly of the “Boyfriend” sneak peek.
In the clip, Bieber is seen whispering the slick tune to a girl as shots of an icy realm flash. With a guitar in hand, the singer strikes a pose before a gleaming white sphere. Beliebers will see the first live performance of the track when he hits the “Voice” stage during the season finale.
Bieber also took time to jokingly chat with judge Adam Levine about a “supergroup” the two were planning, telling Daly, “Basically, we were going to do this supergroup, but he released his single, I released my single,” to which Adam replied, “I’m sorry I quit, man.”
Beyond the Biebs’ announcement, the NBC series also had some unfortunate news to share, revealing the two contestants who were given the boot from the singing competition.
Following the previous night’s “instant eliminations,” Daly explained that the highest vote-getters would advance to the semifinals, with the remaining set of duos battling it out for their judge’s save. And it was nothing but a relief for Chris Mann (Team Christina) and Jermaine Paul (Team Blake) when they were revealed as the highest voted of the week.
Shortly after the commercial break, Team Christina’s Ashley De La Rosa and Lindsey Pavao went head-to-head, causing Miss Aguilera to shed some tears. While De La Rosa took on Lady Gaga’s “Yoü and I,” it was Pavao’s magic that turned Mike Posner’s “Please Don’t Go” into a soothing slow jam and advanced her to the next round. Afterward, Erin Willett and RaeLynn were the remaining duo left to duke it out on Team Blake. RaeLynn tried to do her best with the Band Perry’s “If I Die Young,” but ultimately Blake favored Willett’s energetic take on Ike and Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary.”
If JB didn’t make the females in the audience swoon enough, boy-band phenomenon the Wanted riled up the rest of the gals as they performed their new single “Chasing the Sun.” Unleashing a crew of dancers, the five-member act also shared the stage with Team Blake. Despite being barely audible while singing the hook, the trio at least looked excited to be performing during the high-energy number.

Will Justin Bieber Dress Up As Buzz Lightyear In ‘Boyfriend’ Video?
0The countdown is on to Justin Bieber’s next album release, Believe. And if the response to the album’s first single, “Boyfriend,” is any indication, the record’s appeal might span far beyond the realm of his devoted Beliebers.
“The reaction’s been great [to 'Boyfriend']; not only have I got good reactions from my fans, but great reactions from people who, you know, [might not usually listen to my music]. I’ve gotten messages like ‘You know, I never would have listened to Justin and now I love this song,’ ” he explained to MTV News. “So, it’s really great feedback.”
It’s that kind of enthusiasm that Bieber is taking with him as he works on the record in its final stages. He’s already hit the studio with folks like Drake, will.i.am, Diplo and Usher and is just chugging along before he has to wrap up and send it out into the world.
“There’s not a confirmed release date. It’s this summer. I’m really happy with the outcome of it so far,” he said. “I mean, we’re almost done. We’re just kind of putting the finishing touches on it. It should be good.”
But before then, fans will have to satisfy their appetites with the Colin Tilley-directed “Boyfriend” video, which should drop in the near future. Unfortunately, the visual won’t mirror the single’s choice lyrics, “I could be your Buzz Lightyear/ Fly across the globe.”
“No, no, I won’t be dressed up as Buzz Lightyear,” he said. “I think there’s some copyright issues, I can’t use that.”
We look forward to seeing whether Bieber will be “Chillin’ by the fire while we eatin’ fondue” in the clip.

Carly Rae Jepsen, Justin Bieber Have ‘Friendly Competition’
0Just a few months ago, few had heard of Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen, but with the success of her first single, “Call Me Maybe,” the 26-year-old is quickly becoming a household name. Earlier this week, that infectious song became the fastest-selling U.K. single in 2012 so far — yet, what’s even more impressive is who she beat out for the #1 spot: her boss, Justin Bieber.
Bieber, who signed the YouTube star to his Schoolboy Records, took to Twitter to send his congratulations. “So i get up today and #BOYFRIEND is #2 on ITUNES chart in the UK!! Incredible!” Bieber tweeted. “Who is #1?? My own artist @carlyraejepsen … hmmmm.”
When she stopped by the MTV News offices Monday, Jepsen insisted the only place these two are battling it out is on the charts. “The fact that we are able to have that friendly competition is blowing my mind,” she shared. “I wouldn’t be here without his support and his help, and he is so great about it. He’s just happy for me, which is nice to see.”
So, is she going to give up that #1 spot? “We can share it: two #1s!” Jepsen joked, laughing.
The pair might actually share the #1 spot in the future, since Jepsen confirmed she and Bieber recorded a duet. But for now, Jepsen is still trying to adjust to the fact that her life has changed so dramatically in just the past few months.
“It truly has been a whirlwind, but it’s been a lot of fun,” she said. “It’s just like my entire life changed, and it’s exciting. If you met me before this experience, I would have said my favorite thing about life is when it surprises you. This has been the greatest surprise so far.”
Jepsen revealed that a lack of sleep has been the biggest adjustment for her since finding fame, but it’s the time away from her family that she misses the most.
“That’s the one downer, because it’s hard not to feel grateful about everything that’s happening,” she said. “But I would say that’s the one hard part, just kind of keeping in touch with everyone. And they’re all so excited, but the most they see me is on TV. We’re trying to make a once-a-week little date, phone date, chat, we’ll have tea somewhere and talk; it’s nice.”
Her success isn’t just working out for her: It seems her brother is also reaping benefits: “Everyone in my family is handling it in a different way, and all very positively,” she shared. “My brother is using it as a pickup line … It’s kind of awkward.”

Justin Bieber And Taylor Swift’s Duet Sounds ‘Beautiful,’ Selena Gomez Says
0Wondering what the highly anticipated Justin Bieber track featuring Taylor Swift might sound like? Well, Bieber’s girlfriend, Selena Gomez, has heard it and she gives it two thumbs up.
“It’s beautiful,” she told E! News about the collaboration for Bieber’s June release, Believe. “I don’t know if it’s going to make it on the record, but it is beautiful.”
Whether or not it makes the cut, Swift is only one of many artists — including Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine and Bieber’s pals Kanye West and Drake — who have hit the studio with the Biebs. As for working together, neither Selena nor Justin have mentioned a duet for his album.
“You know, the whole album is just so different, there’s so many different people collaborating,” he recently explained about the album. “It’s crazy. I mean I even wrote a song with Taylor Swift, so the whole album ranges differently. With my music, it doesn’t only stay in a box. It’s so out there. Everything is so different and that’s why I’m so happy with this album.” Bieber will drop Believe on June 19. Before then, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of his “Boyfriend” music video, for which he has released several teases over the last few weeks.
“The concept of this video, I mean, it’s not like a steady concept,” he explained to MTV News about the Colin Tilley-directed clip. “It’s not like ‘Justin follows this girl to this spot.’ No, it’s a bunch of amazing scenes: Like a fire scene, we have an ice scene. “It’s kind of like bouncing back and forth,” he said. “And then there’s scenes of me and just a bunch of girl dancers, and just some great shots, great artistic shots, great shots of me smiling. It’s fun.”

Justin Bieber Goes Country? Taylor Swift Joins JB In Studio
0Justin Bieber has added yet another A-list chart-topper to the collaboration roster for his new album Believe. Speaking with Capital FM earlier this week, the Biebster announced that he’s hit the studio with his very own “Punk’d” victim Taylor Swift.
“You know, the whole album is just so different, there’s so many different people collaborating,” the 18-year-old pop star said of the upcoming release. Aside from name-dropping a few hip-hop heavyweights like Kanye West and Drake, the singer revealed that he penned a tune with Swift, admitting the cut will have a country vibe.
“It’s crazy,” Bieber explained. “I mean I even wrote a song with Taylor Swift, so the whole album ranges differently.”
With the string of features, JB emphasized that the LP will have a mix of sounds, saying, “With my music, it doesn’t only stay in a box. It’s so out there. Everything is so different and that’s why I’m so happy with this album.”
No word on whether Swift’s vocals will appear on the tune in addition to her writing credit.
Bieber’s collabo with the singer/songwriter shouldn’t be too much of a shock for fans. Late last year, the duo hit the stage together for Swift’s L.A. gig on her Speak Now trek. Most recently, Swift was the subject of one of Bieber’s “Punk’d” shenanigans when he convinced the singer she ruined a wedding.

Justin Bieber Will Show Off His ‘New And Fresh’ Side In ‘Boyfriend’ Video
0Justin Bieber is gradually giving fans a taste of his forthcoming video for “Boyfriend.” In the latest tease for the clip, which he tweeted out, several more shots are revealed. They include a watery, booming speaker, Bieber whispering in a pretty girl’s ear and the singer standing in silhouette, snapping his fingers in front of the moon.
“I think people are going to be really happy [with the video] and … I think it’s going to make people like the song more,” Bieber told MTV News on the set of the video, directed by Colin Tilley. “The album, in general, is just really new and fresh and I think people are going to be really happy to hear it.”
The song certainly represents a more mature sound for the 18-year-old, who has abandoned the doo-wop-influenced pop of his past for a Justin Timberlake vibe. But if fans think Believe will sound like “Boyfriend,” Bieber explains that this track offers only a sampling of the album’s overall sound.
“I think it’s part of it,” he said. “I mean, my whole album is so different and every song’s different on the album, and I think that what’s special about it is nothing sounds the same.”
After Bieber teased that he’d be hitting the studio with his mentor Usher, the two tweeted a bit more about working together.
“Ohh … and trust we got a duet coming for ‘LOOKING 4 MYSELF’ and ‘BELIEVE,’ ” Usher tweeted about working with the teen star on both of their forthcoming albums. “He has come a long way. Proud to see his evolution as an artist!”
Believe will drop later this year, with the “Boyfriend” video dropping sometime soon. Looking for Myself, Usher’s next album, will be released in June.

Justin Bieber Reveals His Five Key ‘Boyfriend’ Tips
0Justin Bieber proclaims all the things he wants to do to get the apple of his eye to be his girlfriend on his single “Boyfriend.”
According to the lyrics, he’ll buy her lots of nice things, take her on trips, heat up some fondue, sing in falsetto and be generally swaggie, whatever that means. While those suggestions are sweet gestures to put into song, when MTV News sat down with Bieber on the set of his music video for the Believe track, he broke down the ways, in real life, a guy can be the best boyfriend he can possibly be.
“I don’t know if I’m even the best boyfriend,” Bieber admitted, “but I can give a few suggestions.”
Well, after taking a second to get his tips together, Selena Gomez’s beau had timeless advice for any clueless fellas out there: “I think being honest and patient, because girls can be tough sometimes, so you just got to be patient. That’s two,” he explained. “Forgive, and have fun, because it’s about having fun.”
So, what was Bieber’s final piece of advice? “Last one?” he said. “Be faithful.”
In addition to those five simple steps, Bieber recently dished to Seventeen magazine about another one of his dating philosophies. “I’m just trying to make [Selena] happy, that’s all,” he shared. “I think it’s important to make all women feel like they’re princesses, because every girl is a princess. I’m serious.”
“Boyfriend,” with production and writing credits from Mike Posner and Mason Levy, is the swoon-worthy lead single off his highly anticipated next release. Believe is set to drop later this year, and will include appearances from Bieber’s rapping alter ego Shawty Mane, Drake and possibly even his skateboarding buddy, Lil Wayne.
